Focus Areas
Financial Inclusion and Empowerment of Gender-Based Violence Victims and Suvivors
We empower women by fostering personal growth, facilitating access to education, and promoting active engagement in community life to alleviate hardship and enhance resilience. Our initiatives promote social integration and intergenerational connections, combating isolation while addressing health disparities through holistic well-being programs. Through financial education and empowerment activities, we equip individuals with the tools to manage resources effectively, fostering independence and confidence. We offer training in various crafts and life skills, establishing market opportunities to boost household incomes. Additionally, we provide employment opportunities for survivors of gender-based violence (GBV), and facilitate savings and access to capital through Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs). Our comprehensive approach includes entrepreneurship training and financial literacy programs tailored to the needs of GBV survivors, empowering them to rebuild their lives with dignity and resilience.
Gender Based Violence Prevention and Response
We are increasing awareness about gender-based violence (GBV) and challenging harmful cultural and societal norms. We engage local leaders to take part in preventing and responding to GBV within their communities. Community dialogues are organized to facilitate discussions on the causes and impacts of GBV on victims and survivors. We offer psychosocial support therapy to those affected by GBV and establish support groups to encourage sharing of experiences. We also conduct training sessions for victim support units to improve their effectiveness in GBV prevention and response. Legal support is provided through awareness campaigns to enhance access to information about legal frameworks, rights, and entitlements. We assist GBV victims and survivors in accessing legal representation to pursue justice.
Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights Justice & Access to Safe Abortion
We have formed a consortia with other organizations in Malawi that share our values. We are enhancing grassroots movements while forging partnerships nationally that work to advocate for SRHR in the context of Malawi. We’re utilizing community radio programs and engaging youth groups and youth-friendly health service centers to raise awareness about sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) at regional and global levels. Our efforts include launching a feminist leadership incubator program and advocating for policy reforms related to SRHR. We’re also monitoring service delivery and actively seeking mentorship opportunities.
